Red!

So, in the course of our usual thrift store rounds last weekend we encountered this shelf:

Rach immediately fell in love with the art deco style pattern on the actual shelves themselves.

Although we had no idea where we were actually going to put it, it was $4, so we bought it, and brought it home. Once we had it, Rachel also had the brilliant idea of painting it red, and putting it in the downstairs bathroom. The downstairs bathroom is a half bath, and it’s the kind of bathroom where you have to sidestep the toilet to close the door. It’s been painted, but we never reinstalled the toilet paper holder. So, with a quick coat of red spray paint:

 

 

We have something that matches the accent color in the bathroom, and is totally within our aesthetic, all for about $8. Oh yeah, and we have something to hold the toilet paper, which eliminates awkward explanations to your guests…
